Interview to Fiona Hanke
First a few facts about yourself.
My name is Fiona, I am from Bremen, Germany and for now I am living in Vukovar, Croatia. We are 6 EVS volunteers and live all together in “plava kuca” and we are working in a youth organization called YPGD.
Before starting my EVS project I was aware that I would have the chance to meet people from different generations, and I was very excited about the idea. However, I never thought I would learn and gain so much from that experience in such a short period of time.
EVS (European Voluntary Service) is an international volunteer programme funded by the European Commission. It enables all young people legally resident in Europe, aged between 18 and 30 years, to carry out an international volunteer service in an organisation or in a public body in Europe, Africa, Asia or South America for a period ranging from 2 to 12 months.
