Nowadays, due to the globalization, the intercultural meeting hold by people with completly different roots are on the rise. Indeed, that is the main objective of this project so we took advantage of that, and we went deeper in this area. Rather than just having this intercultural meeting in an informal way, we opted to do it more proffesional and seek for the believes of each of us and contrast the different points of view.
One of the most enriching outcomes of the project is to realize how different the world is and to get awareness that what you always have seen, is not always shared by everybody.
Before opening the debate, we agreed a set of rules so it didn't mess it all up. It went quite good since the participants respected them, and everytime the volume was raising, the moderators managed to keep all calmed. Each group had a time interval of ten minutes to prepare the arguments starting from the moment that the question was shared. After that, the first talk was decided by throwing dices and the one who got the highest number would start. Each group counted with 3 minutes of speaking and supporting their arguments, and they could answer with counter-argument to the other group, as long as they respected the turns, were polite and used a propper volume.
The questions that were suggested to the participants were the following ones:
What's your opinion about the international relation between the countries in the EU?
When can you say a person is integrated in a country?
Do you think that giving up your own culture to be integrated in a different culture is worth it?
The participants were all ready for sharing their perspective and even though they all didn't match, they accepted the other team's contributions with respect and politeness.
